Innovation premium 2021-2027

Project description: Further development of load cycling test benches to evaluate the reliability of novel WBG power semiconductors.

Together with the Professorship of Power Electronics, TU-Chemnitz, research is being conducted on software- and hardware-based solutions for the optimization of load cycling test benches. These test benches enable the expected lifetime in the application to be determined in an accelerated test. The project focuses on wide bandgap (WBG) power semiconductors, in particular SiC MOSFETs. With the improved equipment, Chemnitz Power Labs is able to respond even better to customer-specific requirements from the applications of electromobility, renewable energies and automation technology.

Funding within the framework of the Joint Task “Verbesserung der regionalen Wirtschaftsstruktur” (GRW)

Project description: Expansion of the capacities of a facility for the performance of reliability test procedures for power electronic components through the acquisition/construction of machines for the purpose of creating an additional permanent job.
