Embedded Hardware and Software Engineer (m/f/d)

We are looking for an Embedded Hardware and Software Engineer (m/f/d) in part-time or full-time, who will be responsible for designing and developing embedded systems, programming microcontrollers, and contributing to the development of test benches for power electronics applications.

About us:

We are a young and dynamic company founded in November 2021 as a spin-off from the Chair of Power Electronics at Chemnitz University of Technology. We specialize in providing advanced testing services for power semiconductors. In addition to conducting reliability tests and developing test benches four our customers, we are actively engaged in EU-founded projects and maintain close collaboration with the Chair of Power Electronics on research initiatives. By driving modern technologies such as electromobility and renewable energy, we contribute to reducing CO2 emissions and are poised for further growth.

Your tasks:

  • Designing and developing embedded hardware and software for test benches and customer applications
  • Programming microcontrollers in embedded C, particularly for STM32 platforms
  • Creating schematic and PCB layout designs for embedded systems
  • Supporting the integration of FPGA designs (Xilinx) for advanced test bench functionalities (desirable)
  • Developing and maintaining LabVIEW-based applications for test automation and data acquisition (desirable)
  • Collaborating closely with the technical team and customers to meet project requirements and address challenges in a customer-oriented manner
  • Interpreting test results and preparing reports for customers
  • Contributing to the integration of simulations and AI methods to enhance test efficiency and accuracy

Your profile:

  • Completed degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a comparable qualification
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in embedded hardware and software development
  • Proficient in embedded C programming, with hands-on experience on STM32 microcontrollers
  • Strong skills in schematic design and PCB layout (e.g., using tools like Kicad, Altium Designer or similar)
  • Experience with FPGA design, particularly Xilinx platforms, is a plus
  • Experience with LabVIEW for test automation is a plus
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Reliable and independent work ethic
  • Ability to understand complex technical problems and solve them in a customer-oriented manner
  • Good written and spoken German and English skills
